My name is Eileen Linehan. I am Vocations Director for the Loreto Sisters in Ireland.  I am from Fermoy, Co. Cork. I joined the Loreto Congregation in 1976. After training and years in college I taught Maths, Irish, French, Religious Education at first in Loreto Secondary School Youghal, Co.Cork and then in Loreto College Foxrock  Dublin. I also spent time studying in the United States and teaching Rwandan refugees in Tanzania after the devastating genocide there.

I lived in Rome for a number of years and worked as General Secretary to the Loreto Congregation worldwide.  This afforded me the opportunity to live in an International Loreto Community and meet some of our sisters from all over there world.

On returning to Ireland I was appointed as Director of Vocations in Vocations Ireland. This involved working with vocations personnel from other congregations, male and female, apostolic and contemplative.  During this time I met and worked with people of all age groups who were interested in religious life.  I felt very privileged to have had the opportunity to search with people on their life’s journey.

I obtained a Masters Degree in Spirituality from DCU in 2013.  In 2015 I opened a small Spirituality Centre in Carlow town.  Here people are welcome to avail of guided meditations and prayer, a spiritual library, retreat and reflection days and of course a cup of tea and a chat! I am currently undergoing a two year training programme in Spiritual Accompaniment.
